Kookaburra Karnival
30th Nov / 1st Dec 2026
Let’s not beat around the bush…. Do you feel you would like to add an element of excitement to your golfing experiences?
If the answer is “Yes”, then look no further…The missing piece is right here…
It’s the KOOKABURRA KARNIVAL!!!
It’s more than just a tournament. It’s an experience that you shouldn’t miss. It’s about creating lasting friendships with other women golfers. The programme is exciting and
INCLUSIVE. The main sponsor, Drummond Golf, has been amazingly generous and helpful, and the prizes are extremely generous (000’s will be given away as prizes).
Women golfers from all over are signing up for this. This isn’t just for golfers in Southeast Queensland. This is for women everywhere!!!
Make it a girls’ trip! Get a group together and just come! Worried that you can’t get a full “team” together? No need to worry…we will try our best to get you into a group to participate.
2025 Wrap Up
More than 150 players took part the 2025 Kookaburra Karnival hosted by Maroochy River Golf Club. Festivities began on Sunday night with Registration, Putting for Verve, drinks & nibbles, and would have continued much longer but for the fact that most of us were tee-ing off at 7:30am the next day!
Monday 24th Nov – 4BBB in the morning and Single Stroke in the afternoon. We were not so lucky with the weather, play had to be abandoned after 9 holes in the afternoon as the storms & cyclonic winds rolled in, rendering the course unplayable. We spent most of the afternoon in the clubhouse, drinking and catching up with old and new friends…
Tuesday 25th Nov – Foursomes in the morning and 4-person Ambrose in the afternoon. We were very lucky that the rain stayed away and we were able to play both rounds! The points system used throughout the competition meant that reward was given for both Nett and Gross scores, so the lead kept changing right to the last event – see the detailed scores below! The top-3 team spots were won by The Predator Pack (Indooroopilly GC); Fairway Flyers (Maroochy River) & Lelenama (Monto). Prizes were given out during a celebratory party at Maroochy River, with Nibble platters to go with the end-of-game drinks.
Many thanks to the team at Maroochy River Golf Club and to the hard-working Kookaburra Kommittee who spent a whole year devising and planning the biggest event of the year – Judy Patterson, Carmel Smith, Tam Reid, Pam Hunt and Lorna Gibson. Special thanks to Dave Reid our I.T. Guru.
We look forward to hosting you again in 2026!
