The SBG District Women’s team delivered a dominant performance over Brisbane District in yesterday’s home match at Mt Coolum, overcoming cold winds, heavy cloud cover and intermittent showers to secure a decisive overall win.
Despite the ominous weather early in the day, players remained unfazed. The off‑the‑stick squad produced a clean sweep, claiming a 6–0 victory, while the handicapped section added crucial points with two wins and one squared match. The final team tally stood at 8.5 to 3.5, underscoring SBG’s strong form on a course known for its challenging layout.
Many players and caddies contributed to the successful outing, supported by team managers Carmel Smith and Bronwen Harvey from both districts. Mt Coolum Golf Club earned praise for hosting the event, with competitors enjoying both the course and the post‑match hospitality.
The team now turns its attention to the next fixture — an away game at Nudgee on Sunday, 4 October — where they’ll aim to continue their winning momentum.
